Vice President Kashim Shettima has announced a five-billion-naira federal intervention for victims of the Singer Market fire in Kano State. He made the pledge during a visit to the affected traders following the recent blaze that destroyed goods and stalls.
The VP said the support is aimed at helping victims rebuild their businesses and recover losses. He stated that the assistance forms part of the Federal Government’s response to economic disruptions caused by disasters.
Kano State officials said the fire caused extensive damage to property and livelihoods within the commercial hub. Authorities are still assessing the total cost of losses suffered by traders.

The vice president assured victims that disbursement processes would be coordinated with relevant agencies. He urged affected traders to remain calm as the government finalises support arrangements.
