The Federal Government has released ₦2.3 billion to clear outstanding salary and promotion arrears in federal universities, in a renewed effort to improve staff welfare and sustain dialogue with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.
Education Minister Maruf Olatunji Alausa said the payment, processed through the Office of the Accountant-General, reflects President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to addressing long-standing grievances in the sector. He added that pension remittances and non-statutory deductions to NUPEMCO are being finalised.
