FG Targets 95 Percent Digital Literacy Among Nigerians by 2030

FG Targets 95 Percent Digital Literacy Among Nigerians by 2030

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to achieving 95 percent digital literacy among Nigerians by the year 2030. The Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, outlined plans to integrate digital training into education systems and civil service programmes. 

According to him, the goal is to equip citizens with essential technology skills.

The government also highlighted ongoing efforts within the “Digital Literacy for All” project, which has already enrolled tens of thousands of civil servants. Training focuses on practical digital competencies to improve service delivery in public institutions.

NITDA says the initiative will be implemented in phases, with interim goals aimed at accelerating progress by 2027. The strategy includes targeted programmes for youth, rural communities, women, and persons with disabilities.
