The Federal Government says 37 polytechnics across Nigeria will receive modern industry-grade equipment under the second phase of its Skills-G programme. The Ministry of Education made the announcement in a statement.
It further confirmed the inauguration of a ministerial implementation and monitoring committee to oversee engineering and laboratory upgrades in the institutions. The committee is chaired by the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE.
Priority areas listed under the programme include mechatronics, robotics, renewable energy, telecommunications, electronics and automobile engineering. The ministry says the upgrades are designed to align technical training with labour market demands.
