The Federal Government says repair works on the Kara Bridge along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway will resume fully on Wednesday, 4 March 2026, after being suspended at the weekend due to severe traffic congestion.
The Federal Controller of Works in Ogun State, Layi Komolafe, announced the decision on Monday, stating that the replacement or expansion of joints on the outward Lagos section of the bridge is mandatory. He called on the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Lagos State Police Command and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority to help manage traffic during the exercise.
Komolafe said the traffic build-up is expected to affect vehicular movement within Lagos and appealed to motorists to cooperate with traffic officials.
