The Federal Government and the World Bank have launched a $500 million programme aimed at improving education and primary healthcare delivery in Nigeria. The initiative is known as the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity–Governance (HOPE-GOV) and targets underserved communities nationwide.
The National Coordinator, Assad Hassan said the programme will support basic education reforms, teacher development and improved access to healthcare services.

The World Bank is providing funding and technical support, while Nigerian authorities will oversee implementation.
The government says the initiative is expected to strengthen human capital development and reduce inequalities.
