FIFA Rule Blocks January Exit for Nigeria’s Uche Amid Palace Struggles

Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche will be unable to leave Crystal Palace in January, despite limited game time, due to FIFA’s two-club rule. The 22-year-old, who excelled at Getafe last season with four goals and six assists, has made only seven appearances under Oliver Glasner, totalling 67 minutes since arriving at Selhurst Park in the summer.

Interest from Bundesliga sides had sparked speculation about a move to revive his form, but FIFA regulations prevent players from featuring for more than two clubs in a single season. Uche has already played for Getafe and Palace, ruling out any further switch.

The midfielder must now remain at Palace until the end of the campaign, where he will hope for increased minutes to strengthen his chances of making Nigeria’s AFCON squad.
