A fire broke out at the Ajah market near Alesh bus stop in Lagos’ Lekki area on Sunday evening, destroying property worth millions of naira.
Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), stated that emergency responders arrived at the scene at approximately 10:10 p.m. and found shops filled with combustible materials engulfed in flames.
Preliminary investigations revealed no casualties or injuries, though the exact cause of the fire remained undetermined.
The combined efforts of LASEMA and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings, and it was eventually brought under control.
