In a statement, TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, said initial efforts to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher, proved ineffective as oil, which started dripping from the transformer, fed the blaze.

Mrs Mbah said it took the intervention of the Federal Fire Service in Onikan and the Lagos State Fire Service at Dolphin Estate, to put out the fire about an hour later, thereby bringing the situation under control.

She says normal supply was restored to the station two hours later.
