The Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, has given companies three more months to transition to Nigeria’s National E-Invoicing Solution.
The extension, announced in Lagos by senior FIRS official Emmanuel Eze, follows the system’s 1 August 2025 launch for large taxpayers. FIRS says over 1,000 firms – about 20% of its target – are already onboard, including MTN Nigeria, Huawei Nigeria, and IHS Nigeria.

Sixteen certified service providers are supporting integration, with completion deadlines set for 1 November. The agency stressed the grace period is for system readiness, not delays.
Technical support, sector-specific sessions, and partnerships with service providers are planned to speed adoption. Project Manager Mohammed Bawa said integration could take between two and twelve weeks, depending on complexity.
FIRS calls the initiative a milestone in modernising tax administration through digital invoicing.
