The first batch of Nigerians fleeing the war in Sudan returned to the country late last night on an Air Peace flight which touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.Â
The flight which came in from Egypt around 11:30 pm was shortly followed by a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) plane conveying another set of Nigerians which touched down at about 12 midnight.

Upon their arrival, the evacuees were screened by officials of the Ministry of Health, and the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, announced that each of them would receive N100,000 from the government.
Another batch of evacuees from Sudan is expected to return to the country later today.
