First lady, Remi Tinubu Donates ₦1bn To Displaced Families In Benue

First Lady Remi Tinubu has announced a ₦1 billion donation from the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) to support families displaced by a suspected herders’ attack in Benue State. The funds are aimed at helping affected residents return to their livelihoods and rebuild their lives.

She made the announcement on Tuesday at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue State Government House during a condolence visit following the June attack on Yelewata community, which claimed over 100 lives. Mrs Tinubu said the initiative is in line with RHI’s motto: ‘Towards a Better Life for Families’.

The First Lady expressed sorrow over the killings, describing the recent violence as heartbreaking. She urged citizens to stay hopeful despite the difficult times and encouraged collaborative efforts to support victims and foster peace.

Also present at the event was the First Lady of Nasarawa State, who joined Mrs Tinubu in showing solidarity with the people of Benue.
