First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is set to grace the closing ceremony of the third edition of the National Para Games today at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. The National Sports Commission confirmed on Thursday that the First Lady, a long-standing advocate and supporter of para sports in Nigeria, will serve as the special guest of honour.
The 2026 National Para Games, which kicked off on March 26, is scheduled to run until April 3. The tournament brought together the country’s finest para athletes from across Nigeria to compete in various disciplines. The First Lady’s appearance at the closing ceremony highlights her public commitment to sports development in Nigeria.
Senator Tinubu has offered investment, funding, and support for a wide range of sports disciplines and has maintained a strong commitment to promoting opportunities for people living with disabilities. She was previously installed as the Grand Patron of the 2025 Africa Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Abuja.
