Five Farmers Killed in Suspected Herdsmen Attack in Ondo

Five farmers have reportedly been killed in an attack by armed men suspected to be herdsmen in the Ajegunle Powerline community of Akure North Local Government Area, Ondo State. The victims, who were labourers from Plateau and Kaduna states, were working on farmlands when the assailants struck around 3:00 pm on Tuesday.

An eyewitness, also a farmer, explained that the herdsmen had been destroying crops and disrupting the livelihoods of farmers in the area before opening fire on the victims. The source added that such attacks have become a frequent occurrence, with many farmers fleeing their farms due to the constant threat to their lives.
