Five members of a United Nations aid convoy have been killed in an attack near el-Koma in Sudan’s North Darfur, UN agencies said on Tuesday.
The convoy, comprising 15 trucks from the World Food Programme and UNICEF, was carrying food and nutrition supplies to famine-stricken el-Fasher when it was ambushed late Monday night.

Both the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have traded blame over the drone strikes on the convoy, as UN agencies call for an urgent investigation.
The war in Sudan, which erupted in 2023 after a failed democratic transition, has forced over four million people to flee, creating one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
