FK Abudu, Davido, other Nigerians named in TIME “100 Next” 2021 List

TIME Magazine has officially published it’s 2021 list of “100 Next”, which highlights 100 emerging leaders who are shaping the future, and features several Nigerian stars including, Davido, Nse Ufot, Olugbenga Agboola, Feyikemi ‘FK’ Abudu, Odunayo Eweniyi, Ijeoma Oluo and Damilola Odufuwa.

The “100 NEXT” list, which is an of the “TIME 100” franchise features five categories, namely; Artists, Advocates, Leaders, Phenom and Innovators. With profiles written by TIME 100 alumni.

Davido’s article, written by Laycon examines the impact of his latest album, and how his music transcends social movements whilst being massively popular (Davido recently earned his second Gold certification in America, being the only Nigerian artist to achieve this feat).

Feyikemi ‘FK’ Abudu, Odunayo Eweniyi and Damilola Odufuwa are recognized, for the strategic role their activism played in supporting the #EndSARS protest against brutality, and how they have helped consolidate their efforts, through the Feminist Coalition.

On the tech front, Olugbenga Agboola is highlighted as an innovator, whose technology has helped small business build online shops in a pandemic that has hit African businesses the hardest. In his profile, Olugbenga explains how he intends to use the technology of Flutterwave to boost seamless trade within Africa, noting that while “Africa is not a country, we make it feel like one.”.
