Floods Kill One, Displace Hundreds in Yobe

The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency says flash floods have killed one person and affected more than 2,600 residents across the state. At least 14 communities were hit by the disaster following heavy rainfall in Potiskum Local Government Area.

The agency’s Executive Secretary, Mohammed Goje, said over 600 displaced people are taking temporary shelter at Sabon Gari Primary School. He added that the state is providing meals, cash support and dignity kits to affected households.
