Nigeria secured qualification by retaining their WAFU B U20 Championship crown in Lomé last October. The team is currently in camp in Katsina as part of their initial preparations, with backing from the state government.
A place in the semi-finals would guarantee Nigeria a berth at the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile, set to take place from 27th September to 19th October. The Flying Eagles reached the quarter-finals in the last edition of the tournament, held in Argentina.
