Former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has dismissed speculation over his alleged defection from the All Progressives Congress, APC, insisting that his commitment to the party remains unchanged.
In a statement shared on social media on Monday, Mr Fayemi described himself as a foundation member of the APC and reaffirmed his allegiance to the ruling party. He also expressed hope that it was not too late for the party to embrace greater internal democracy and inclusivity.Â

His remarks follow mounting speculation that several senior APC figures may follow former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, in leaving the party.
Mallam el-Rufai confirmed on Monday that he had joined the Social Democratic Party, fuelling further debate over the future of the APC’s leadership.
