Former Military Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, has called on the federal government to ensure measures are put in place to “soften” the hardship being experienced by Nigerians.
Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar made the call on Tuesday, when he hosted a delegation of Campaign for Democracy (CD), a civil society organisation (CSO), in Minna, Niger state.

While speaking, the former military ruler emphasised that the hardship Nigerians are facing “appears to be out of control” and “everybody is crying”.
While advising the government that palliatives are not the solution to addressing high prices of food items, the former head of state urged those planning to protest against the economic crisis on October 1 to do so peacefully.
