The former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Parradang, has been found dead in a hotel room in Abuja.
A statement from the Federal Capital Territory police command said Mr Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, on 3 March for an overnight stay. He was later visited by a woman who left the premises that afternoon.
Concerned about his whereabouts, a military officer friend traced him to the hotel the following day. Staff accompanied him to the room, where Mr Parradang was discovered seated and unresponsive.

Initial reports had suggested he was attacked elsewhere, but police have dismissed these claims. Investigations are ongoing, and efforts are being made to locate the woman seen with him.
Mr Parradang served as the head of the Immigration Service from 2013 to 2015. Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of death.
