Agboola Ajayi, a former deputy governor of Ondo State, has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the November 16 governorship election in the state.
The chairman of the committee, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, declared Ajayi as winner of the primary after he polled 264 votes out of 621 at the party’s primary election which was conducted at the International Culture and Events Center, Akure.

Also contesting the ticket, a former member of the House of Representatives, Kolade Akinjo, polled 157 votes to come in second.
Mr. Agboola Ajayi will join other candidates, including incumbent governor Lucky Ayedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to test his popularity at the polls on Saturday 16th November this year.
