The former US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has criticised a Republican led House panel investigating links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Clinton, who was subpoenaed to testify, accused lawmakers of trying to shield one political party and a public official from scrutiny.
Ahead of her appearance, she released her opening statement online, citing what she described as an institutional failure to deliver justice for victims and survivors. She called for President Donald Trump to testify under oath, arguing that a fair investigation would question him directly about references in government files.
Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, is also scheduled to appear before the panel. The Clintons have maintained they had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities and say they have provided all relevant information to investigators.

Epstein was convicted in Florida in 2008 for soliciting a minor and later faced federal sex trafficking charges in 2019 before his death in custody. The case continues to draw political debate, with US lawmakers divided over transparency and the release of investigative files.
