The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the death of four passengers in a lone accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said the incident occurred on Sunday night in the Alapako area of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.
The crash involved a Toyota Hiace with registration number FKJ570YE and was reportedly caused by a punctured tyre, which led the driver to lose control. Four persons, including the driver, died at the scene, while nine others sustained injuries. The injured victims were taken to Victory Hospital in Ogere, and the deceased were deposited at FOS Mortuary, Ipara.

The police confirmed they were present at the scene to manage traffic, control crowds, and document the incident. The vehicle was severely damaged due to the impact of the crash.
The Command has advised motorists to ensure proper vehicle maintenance and adhere to road safety regulations to prevent future accidents.
