The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) announced on Sunday the recovery of a fourth body following the recent helicopter crash near Port Harcourt.
In a statement, NSIB spokesperson Bimbo Oladeji confirmed that the body, identified through photographic evidence as one of the crash victims, was recovered from the water and escorted by the Cameroonian Navy to NUIMS Antan, facilitating safe passage through Cameroonian territorial waters.
The tragic accident occurred on Thursday at approximately 11:22 a.m., when the helicopter, departing from the Port Harcourt Military Base en route to the FPSO NUIMS Antan oil rig, crashed along waterways near the Rivers State capital. Of the eight individuals confirmed on board, three bodies were initially recovered shortly after the incident.
