Nigerian music icon 2Baba is once again in the spotlight, this time over his engagement to Edo lawmaker, Natasha Osarawu. The development has sparked controversy within his family, with his mother, Rose Idibia, expressing strong disapproval. In a viral video shared by 2Baba’s younger brother, she claimed her son is “not in his right senses”, as he is still going through a divorce process from his wife, Annie Idibia.
Despite confirming his separation from Annie Idibia, 2Baba dismissed rumors that Ms. Osarawu played any role in the marital breakdown. A viral video on Thursday captured the singer proposing to the lawmaker amid cheers from friends and well-wishers. The footage showed an excited 2Baba spraying money, embracing Osarawu, and placing a ring on her finger.

However, his mother has made an emotional plea to Nigerian mothers, urging them to intervene and appeal to Ms. Osarawu to release her son. She also asked the lawmaker to remove the beads she allegedly placed on his neck and wrist. As of now, Ms. Osarawu has not responded to the public outcry.
