Out of 254 motorists arraigned for 563 offences, nine were discharged while the rest were found guilty. The violations ranged from overloading and traffic light disobedience to dangerous driving, phone use at the wheel, and impersonation.
Among those convicted were seven repeat offenders, with punishments spanning from hours of community service to five days. One case involved a man posing as a soldier, who was sentenced at Mambilla Barracks. FRSC says similar clampdowns will be extended nationwide.
