An aid flotilla sailing towards Gaza has reported coming under multiple drone attacks off the coast of Greece. Organisers of the Global Sumud Flotilla said more than a dozen drones targeted several boats, disrupting communications and causing explosions. The civilian fleet of 50 vessels, carrying activists from over 40 countries, aims to challenge Israel’s blockade of Gaza.
Among those on board is Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, who described the incident as an attempt to intimidate. Italian officials confirmed naval support was dispatched to protect citizens, while lawmakers on the flotilla reported sound bombs and flashbangs during the confrontation.

The flotilla claims Israel is attempting to justify military action by portraying the mission as linked to Hamas, a charge organisers reject. Israel has previously warned it would not allow such vessels to reach Gaza. No casualties have been reported.
