Israeli forces are poised to enter Gaza City after three days of heavy bombing in Zeitoun and Sabra, according to the territory’s Hamas-run civil defence. Residents say they cannot recover bodies as shelling continues.
The UK, EU, Australia, Canada and Japan have warned famine is “unfolding” and urged Israel to take “immediate, permanent” steps to allow aid in. Israel denies starvation, blaming UN agencies for delivery delays.

The World Health Organisation has appealed for urgent access to stock hospitals, warning of a “catastrophic” health crisis.
Gaza’s health ministry says 100 people died in the past day, including 31 at aid sites. Former leaders Helen Clark and Mary Robinson have accused Israel of “unfolding genocide” and man-made famine.
Israel’s war cabinet has approved occupying the city but given no timetable.
