Getafe coach Jose Bordalas has confirmed that Nigerian midfielder Christantus Uche will start Friday’s La Liga clash with Valencia, despite uncertainty over his future.
Uche, 22, had attracted interest across Europe after an impressive season, with Premier League side Wolves tabling a bid last week. However, talks collapsed over personal terms, leaving Getafe under pressure as they seek a major sale to meet La Liga’s financial rules.

Since then, Uche has been linked with several clubs including AC Milan, Leeds United, Crystal Palace, Nice and Sunderland, though no formal offers have been made. With the transfer window closing in four days, speculation remains intense.
Coach Bordalas insists the midfielder remains central to his plans until any deal is confirmed, while Uche himself has pledged commitment to his teammates, making an immediate exit appear unlikely.
