Ghanaian international footballer Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and sexual assault during an appearance at Southwark Crown Court in London. The 32-year-old midfielder, who now plays for Villarreal, is accused of offences involving three women between April 2021 and June 2022.

The alleged crimes took place while Partey was playing for Arsenal in the English Premier League. He faces five counts of rape relating to two women and one count of sexual assault against a third woman.

Partey was released on bail ahead of a trial scheduled to begin on 2 November 2026, which is expected to last six to eight weeks. He had joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for 50 million euros before leaving the club earlier this year.

The midfielder featured for Villarreal in their Champions League match against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night, where he came on as a substitute and was booed by Spurs fans throughout.
