Crystal Palace loanee Owen Goodman is pushing for inclusion in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe in March 2025.
The AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper, eligible to play for England, Canada, and Nigeria, has impressed with his recent performances. While he has represented England and Canada at youth level, Goodman appears inclined to commit to Nigeria.

He visited Nigeria Football Federation President Ibrahim Gusau in Abuja last season, signaling his interest. Previously invited to the Flying Eagles camp for the 2023 Under-20 AFCON, Goodman opted out, awaiting a call-up to England’s Elite League Squad, which he later received.
Interim Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen may now reward Goodman’s consistency as the goalkeeper makes his case for a senior international debut with Nigeria.
