The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has proposed a ₦3 trillion budget for the 2025 fiscal year to the Lagos State House of Assembly. The proposed budget includes an internally generated revenue target of ₦1.9 trillion and ₦626 billion in federal transfers. Recurrent expenditure is set at ₦1.2 trillion, while capital expenditure stands at ₦1.7 trillion.
In his presentation, Governor Sanwo-Olu outlined key sectoral allocations: ₦908.7 billion for Economic Affairs, ₦233.2 billion for Environment, ₦204 billion for Health, ₦208.4 billion for Education, ₦124.1 billion for Security and Public Order, and ₦47.1 billion for Social Protection.

The governor emphasised that the budget aims to sustain Lagos’ infrastructure development, improve social services, and enhance economic growth in line with the state’s long-term strategic plans.
