Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno.

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has condemned the terrorist attack on Dumba, near Baga in the Kukawa Local Government Area, which left at least 40 farmers and fishermen dead. The attack, which occurred on Sunday, was carried out by Boko Haram and ISWAP militants operating in the region. In response, Zulum has called on the officers and men of Operation Hadin Kai to track and eliminate the insurgents responsible for the violence in Dumba and similar areas around Lake Chad.

Zulum expressed deep sorrow and anger over the tragic loss of lives, and extended condolences to the victims’ families. He reassured the people that efforts would be made to locate the missing persons and reunite them with their families. The governor’s statement was issued by Usman Tar, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Internal Security.

The governor also urged citizens to adhere to safety guidelines, cautioning them not to venture beyond the designated safety zones marked by government and security authorities. This is part of ongoing efforts to reduce vulnerability to insurgent attacks in the state.
