The talks, convened by the Labour Minister, are aimed at preventing a nationwide strike over alleged anti-union practices.

NUPENG has already declared an indefinite strike from the same day, with the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, backing the move. The NLC has instructed its 54 affiliates and 36 state councils to prepare for full participation.

The looming shutdown has raised fears of fuel shortages, economic disruption, and wider unrest if the dispute is not swiftly resolved.
