Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has condemned the large-scale destruction in Ilobu following renewed violence over a longstanding land dispute involving Ifon and Erin-Osun.
The crisis, which escalated last week, resulted in widespread devastation, with three fatalities recorded in Ifon. Thousands of Ilobu residents fled to nearby Okinni, seeking refuge in mosques, unfinished buildings, and with relatives. At Ojutu Bridge, displaced families, including women and children, were seen sheltering in garages and makeshift camps.

In Ilobu, homes and businesses, including two filling stations, were reduced to rubble, while several cars were torched. Ifon also witnessed arson, with at least four buildings set ablaze.
Despite a 24-hour curfew, military personnel have been deployed to maintain order in the three affected towns, which remain largely deserted as residents stay behind closed doors.
