The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has approved a Christmas bonus of N100,000 for workers, public servants, and pensioners in the state.
Announcing the bonus in a statement on Tuesday night, the State Head of Service, George Nweke, said the bonus, which will be implemented immediately, is intended to help workers and others fulfil their Christmas obligations.

Mr Nweke also said that this is the second time during Governor Fubara’s administration that civil servants will receive a Christmas bonus of N100,000, an amount above the national minimum wage. It is also the first time that pensioners have been included.
