Governor Fubara Denied Assembly Access Despite Efforts to Present 2025 Budget

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has warned that no political power is permanent, as tensions persist in the state’s governance.

Speaking at the commissioning of the Bori Zonal Hospital in Khana Local Government Area, Governor Fubara reiterated his commitment to serving the people despite ongoing disputes with the State House of Assembly.

He said he had made multiple attempts to engage with the Speaker and legislators regarding the 2025 budget presentation, in line with a Supreme Court ruling. However, efforts—including WhatsApp messages and direct outreach—were met with a refusal to grant him access to the Assembly complex.

Describing the situation as regrettable, the governor said he remained open to returning to the Assembly when members were ready to engage.
