Governor Fubara Did Not Close Oil Companies, Says Rivers State Government
Governor of Rivers State, Siminalaye Fubara

The Rivers State government has denied reports claiming Governor Siminalayi Fubara ordered the shutdown of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and other oil firms in the state.

In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Warisenibo Joe Johnson, the government labeled the reports as false and described them as fabricated propaganda.

Mr. Johnson emphasized that the news, circulated on social media, was a product of misinformation by “enemies of the state” and shared through unverified sources.

The government urged the public to disregard such misleading reports and assured that operations of oil companies in Rivers State remain unaffected.
