Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has reacted to the incident at the Rivers State House of Assembly, where he was locked out of the Assembly Complex.
Security personnel had earlier today shut the gates, claiming there was no official communication from the governor regarding his visit. However, Governor Fubara countered this, saying he had formally notified Speaker Martins Amaewhule through a letter and attempted to reach him by phone since Tuesday.

Fubara explained that his visit to the Assembly Complex was in line with the Supreme Court’s judgment on the state’s political crisis. He downplayed the incident, suggesting the Assembly might still be processing his letter.
Meanwhile, Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory (FCT), said governor Fubara was locked out of the assembly quarters on Wednesday for disregarding due process.
