Governor Fubara Sacks Commissioners as Rivers Marks Independence Day

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has formally relieved members of his cabinet whose appointments were recently nullified by the Supreme Court. The affected officials, including commissioners and other aides, were appreciated for their service during a valedictory session at Government House, Port Harcourt, on Wednesday.

The event, held as part of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, provided the Governor an opportunity to commend their contributions over the past two years despite political turbulence and the State of Emergency earlier imposed by President Bola Tinubu.
