Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has sworn in newly elected local government chairmen and vice chairmen, calling on them to prioritise inclusive governance and serve all residents regardless of political affiliation.
Speaking at the ceremony on Sunday, the governor described their election as a renewed call to grassroots service, insisting that real governance must reach every household. He challenged the officials to deliver tangible improvements—such as roads, schools, markets, and youth engagement.

Governor Sanwo-Olu reminded the new leaders that they carry the hopes of Lagosians and must not pursue personal gain.
The Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Mr Bolaji Kayode, hailed the credibility of the elections and commended the governor’s support for grassroots democracy.
Representing the new officials, Ibeju-Lekki chairman Sesan Olowa pledged not to disappoint, promising visible development across communities.
