Football fans in Akwa Ibom will enjoy free access to Nigeria’s 2026 World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe, following a gesture by Governor Umo Eno. The state government has acquired 30,000 tickets for the fixture at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Commissioner for Sports, Paul Bassey, confirmed that tickets are available at select distribution centres, including radio stations, Uyo Township Stadium, and Ibom Plaza. He stressed that no tickets will be issued at the stadium, with entry restricted to valid ticket holders. Security agencies have been mobilised to enforce regulations.
