Greenland has announced a new coalition government, just hours before a visit by US Vice President JD Vance to the Arctic island, which President Donald Trump has previously expressed interest in acquiring.
The new administration will be led by Jens-Frederik Nielsen, leader of the pro-business Democrats, who has called for a broad political alliance to present a united front amid renewed pressure from Washington. The party, which supports a gradual move towards independence from Denmark, secured the largest share of seats in the March 11 election, tripling its representation to 10.
