Halima Abubakar Says She Is Homeless, Needs ₦25m for Medical Care

Nigerian actress Halima Abubakar has appealed for financial assistance to fund surgery for a brain tumour, saying she is currently homeless and in distress. Speaking during a live online session, she said she was recently evicted from her home and is struggling to cope with her medical condition.

Halima said she had exhausted her savings after paying ₦9 million for her mother’s hernia surgery in October last year and attempted to use funds raised for her own treatment to pay her rent, but the payment was reportedly rejected by her landlady. She said she relocated to Abuja to be close to Turkish Hospital, where she has been receiving treatment for over a year.

The actress said she requires about ₦25 million to cover surgery, aftercare, accommodation and feeding. She appealed to Nigerians and prominent individuals, including former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello and Seyi Tinubu, for assistance, dismissing claims that she was fabricating her illness and insisting that her plea was a last resort.
