Hamas has described the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as a ‘catastrophic famine,’ blaming Israel’s continued closure of land crossings for worsening conditions in the besieged territory.
In a strongly worded statement, the group accused Israel of weaponising food supplies and reducing aid to a fraction of what is needed. Hamas said Gaza requires over 600 aid and fuel trucks daily, but only a limited number are allowed in.

The group alleged that relief convoys are routinely attacked and looted, calling it part of an Israeli policy to deepen the crisis. Hamas urged global agencies to denounce what it termed Israel’s “starvation engineering” and insisted that lifting the blockade remains the only viable solution.
