Veteran actor Patrick Doyle has commented on the recent altercation between Fuji music icon KWAM 1 and ValueJet staff at Abuja airport, suggesting the singer was baited into the confrontation.
The dispute arose when ground staff requested to inspect a gold flask the musician attempted to board with on Flight VK201 to Lagos. Suspected of containing alcohol—prohibited onboard Nigerian flights—the flask became the centre of a heated exchange, prompting the pilot to move the aircraft and drawing public attention.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has since launched an investigation into the singer’s conduct.
Mr. Doyle, reacting via social media, reflected on similar experiences faced by public figures, cautioning celebrities against reacting to provocations. While expressing some empathy, he criticised KWAM 1 for allowing himself to be drawn into the fracas, urging restraint and self-control in such confrontational encounters.
