No fewer than 16 persons have reportedly died in an accident on the Benin-Ore expressway and at least another three were injured in the accident that occurred on Monday night.
This was revealed in a statement by the spokesperson of the Ondo command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Samuel Ibitoye. He said the accident involved a Toyota Hiace bus and a truck around the Ajue community.

While disclosing that the crash was caused by overtaking and excessive speeding, Mr. Ibitoye advised drivers to prioritise caution and defensive driving techniques, adding that excessive speed is a major contributor to road accidents in Nigeria.
