Senior American and regional envoys have joined the third day of indirect talks between Israel and Hamas in Egypt, aimed at advancing former US President Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan to end the Gaza war. The discussions, held in Sharm el-Sheikh, are being attended by Jared Kushner, Trump’s former Middle East adviser, and US businessman Steve Witkoff.
They are joined by Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani and Turkey’s intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin in what diplomats describe as a crucial phase of negotiations.

Hamas officials say they have engaged constructively and presented a list of prisoners for possible exchange with 48 Israeli hostages. However, Palestinian representatives report that significant disagreements remain over key issues, including a permanent ceasefire, Israeli withdrawal, humanitarian access, and post-war governance of Gaza.
