Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has launched a new Guinness World Record attempt to cook the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice. The event began on Friday at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos after being moved from Muri Okunola Park due to a surge in registered attendees.
Baci is using a custom-built pot measuring six metres wide for the challenge. She revealed that 250 bags of rice will be required to prepare the record-breaking dish, which is expected to serve thousands of portions.

In an Instagram post, the chef shared behind-the-scenes preparations, joking that she personally washed the massive pot to ensure it was “squeaky clean.” The attempt has attracted wide public interest, with many supporters present at the venue.
Baci first gained international recognition in 2023 when she set a Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon. However, her record was later broken by Irish chef Alan Fisher later that year.
